I thought he loses a bit of recent memory when he engages with Kisara because in the first episode he left a note on himself but now I see what he meant by the months, he's sacrificing his own memories to power her up. That's quite the price to pay because he could eventually lose the memories that founded his motivation.

I can see why Kisara hates Ayano so much, if Shuu's been offering her memory and it sounded like she adopts them herself, then she's been seeing Shuu and Ayano going on dates and being a couple herself and can't do anything about it. That scene where they're talking about how Shuu's a bad guy was interesting to watch.

I like how in the after credit, seeing more of their time together, Kisara may have realized how good they were for each other so I like that she wants to apologize for her actions.

Poor Ayano though, if she purposely picked that outfit because it had meaning but Shuu didn't pick up on that she must have been so disappointed.

Judgment526 • 1 year ago

Nice observation. I actually completely missed that particular detail about the note.

Protecc ze Loli • 1 year ago

what do you mean that particular detail about the note? Why else would he write a note for his future self/

Judgment526 • 1 year ago

The possible implications didn’t properly register when I first saw it, and people do in fact write notes to remind themselves of important things in real life even if they aren’t suffering from memory loss.

Time. • 1 year ago

That really sucks, but at least Shuu still said something about her outfit though…

Kirito • 1 year ago

The memories is the equivalent exchange for power so that's why shuu forgot the daughter of that bald guy in the previous episode

Jack • 1 year ago

It's really interesting how memories could even power something up, but I could see that by the end when there is no more to take he might go full berserk mode.

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

Or it could take a dark and depressing turn and he becomes an empty shell.

Anime animusphere • 1 year ago

Like what happened to Yu in Charlotte, oh god that's so damn possible

K boy • 1 year ago

I wouldn't say he was an empty shell more like he just lost his memorys he's still pretty normal

Anime animusphere • 1 year ago

How was he normal? He became crazy after plundering hundreds or thousands of abilities and he was only able to get back on track because of the flash cards Tomori gave him. It's totally possible to happen in Shu here

K boy • 1 year ago

I was talking about the end when he plundered all the abilities he just lost his memorys but he was still a good guy it's possible for shu to go rogue tho

Anime animusphere • 1 year ago

He didn't stay as a good guy, remember the scene at the desert? He almost tried to plan dominating the world. If not for Tomori's flash cards that reminds him of his purpose he could have done it in months. Same with Shu but he is relying on his past self's determination to do what he needed to even he doesn't know why he do it.

K boy • 1 year ago

I'm talking about the hospital part but you do make a good point he lost his mind for a minute there

AnimeVibesYT • 1 year ago

Oh yeah now i think about it the plot is similar to Charlotte, and i have a feeling this might have a sad end to {if it is having an end}

AnimeVibesYT • 1 year ago

And we get another good anime that's a keeper with bad ending

Vina • 1 year ago

vegetable just like Kirito

No Life King • 1 year ago

Kiritable

Kirito • 1 year ago

Well that's a bad things because memories are really important and that's what he is sacrificing to get a power up to the girl and him

Shadow • 1 year ago

It's like that one anime where the mc sacrifice his memories too to have powers and offers it to Yggdrasil

Qween Qingzanor • 1 year ago

That plot point of memory power up leading to memory loss was in Hitsugi no Chaika & Majo no Tabitabi

Claude • 1 year ago

I’m still rooting for Kisara and feel bad for her and her unrequired love

Pankaj Nolia • 1 year ago

Well yeah after all those memories gives him pain and she also don't forget or erase those memories I also hope she is be a bit happy at upcoming episodes

Mugen • 1 year ago

Interesting stuff we got here, i completely ignored the note thing back there it makes so much sense now. The flashbacks were really wholesome, they seemed like a genuinely good couple. I wonder what made them break up. That being said i hope they get back together without too much romance drama and don’t pull some bait and switch with Kisara, but this is the author of saekano and white album 2 we are talking about lol

Denji The Knot Devil • 1 year ago

Well judging by Officer Morgan's recount of the time of trouble in Shuu's past when he briefly fostered him, I'd hazard a guess and say that Shuu met Kisara right around the time frame he was dating Ayano (if you recall by the fountain when Ayano listed all the times Shuu "betrayed her expectations" she said he didn't even come home for her birthday) and they spoke and she promised him that he could avenge his family by utilizing her power, it'll just cost him something, that and/or he saw the future where Ayano is grievously injured/dies and he chose to sacrifice their relationship for the sake of love.

The reason why I said anything about futuristic events is because -- and I find this provocative in its implication -- Kisara asked "what is your objective?" "To bring your family back?" Keep your eyes on that one because the way it is worded alludes that there is a demonic power to enable time travel or perhaps something equivalent and to that effect?

"Or is it to save her from the dangerous situation right in front of your eyes now?" Which lends credence to my earlier statement that he sacrifices his memories with the woman he loves -- Ayano -- for love.

I know that sounds backwards but man, wouldn't that be a killer plot twist!

Of course all speculation but there are hints and I can't wait for things to align so I can see how close or far off the mark I've been.

Pankaj Nolia • 1 year ago

Hmm well there is no problem in that but it does not mean you forget about kisara it a bit rude she gives her all and do whatever she can afterall he also love mc i am still rooting for her to the end

Saekano and white album 2 SS tier animes

Gabre • 1 year ago

It might be really painful for Kisara to watch Shuu and Ayano interact, knowing exactly what parts about their life together he does no longer remember.

Shiroshiroshirosan • 1 year ago

Interesting how he can decide what to feed to Kisara. Does burning the memory of his ex give more mileage or something? What memories even qualifies as food?

Liza Hawkeye • 1 year ago

he can reverse time and space, hes twisted in memory so he twists world around him.

BlackReaper • 1 year ago

First it might be a mixture of her getting stronger by him giving up his memories but it also seems like it’s more with the bullets he shoots that why he said 2 does a number on him second it sucks cause I don’t think anyone knows what he sacrifices and finally this anime gives me some older anime vibes not like 90’s old school but like early 2000’s to like even 2012-15 after that I feel like anime just kinda followed similar plots like the magical high schools and other worlds not that they’re bad but it’s feels different and reminds me of when I first started watching anime and had all these new and different stories to watch also I like the fact that the main characters name is shu and the demon kinda looks like inori from guilty crown which is my favorite anime of all time.

Billy Bob • 1 year ago

reminded me of guilty crown and they're both Shu kuns

iCan'tDecideMyFavAnime • 1 year ago

kisara really feels guilty for being the one consuming those memories, but that's what shu wants to achieve his goal
The memory losing storyline seems tragic

The plot's definitely getting interesting compared to the first ep

Sirgejb-sama • 1 year ago

yeah that really sucks for Ayano, i just hope he somehow can make it up to her and to Kisara, she sounded so sad when she said that he doesnt love her, i hope they end up together or something

K boy • 1 year ago

Yeah it must be hard loving someone and knowing that they're only with you bc your a means to an end but it's also sad for ayano too cuz he's forgetting their time together and she didn't get an explanation so she's probably thinking he doesn't care anymore and that he's using her

Sirgejb-sama • 1 year ago

yeah tbh i just hope that she finds out that hes forgetting everything and that someone he comes to love kisara xd

TenseiSensei • 1 year ago

I think the other thing is that clearly only the two know about the price he pays.

The fact that they were such a good fit (seemingly) for each other yet Shu just almost acting like nothing matters to him by the day probably hurts quite a bit for her. In other words, she maybe thinks that all the time they spent together wasnt as valuable to him as it was to her.

Also, given Kisara’s feelings for Shu it’s likely she also hates the fact that he has the suffer for Ayano and for his goal. I think for this reason combined with what you pointed out that Kisara dislikes Ayano so

much. I suppose Kisara might feel bad for Ayano too because Kisara is able to pick up on the little things that Ayano does since she has Shu’s memories but Shu never reciprocates. It’s practically like he doesn’t even know her that well.

Maybe this is also why Ayano says she always hates how insincere he is, but he probs can’t given his circumstances.

The thing I see is that the more memories he loses, the less of a human and the less of him he is. I’m curious how far the memory taking goes anyways. For now, it’s seems like “important” events are getting taken first perhaps because of emotional significance. Shu still remembers Ayano every time and seems friendly enough to her and on some form of terms with her mom. However, how many more of these memories does he have? Will it start bleeding into his knowledge of people around him? Will it bleed into his basic knowledge, like language?

Surely won’t be like a uh, Darker than black thing where if she overuses his memories than he just ceases being conscious. (In the other anime, ceasing being)

I feel bad for Ayano and also for kisara, she's being used 😢

No Life King • 1 year ago

Nah, he's doing this for Ayano. He only used Kisara

AnimeVibesYT • 1 year ago

Yupp she's being used 😢

Qween Qingzanor • 1 year ago

This is so contrived. Shuu could've just told Ayano what he's sacrificing & she would've tried to do something, especially considering their high tech society.
Or are creators aiming for crappy cliche of Ayano resenting Kisara then trying to keep her away?
Kisara repeatedly taunting Ayano just keeps her interested though.

Also, I really hate how Shuu lets his love interests drag him around, these cheap humour attempts are tiresome.

U N K N O W N • 1 year ago

Is it possible that he can choose the memory he wants to lose? because even though he lose memories he still remember people around him including their names.

Judgment526 • 1 year ago

*Whole town loses power.*

Shuu: "This is just everyday life for us."

Got a good chuckle out of Kisara's self-insert in Shuu's family photo.
